Nate Manic's presence on the Midwest scene can be described as nothing less than ubiquitous, with hundreds of appearances in dozens of venues throughout Chicago, Madison, Milwaukee and beyond. Getting his start in Madison in 1997, Nate moved to Chicago in the fall of 2000 and quickly established a solid reputation through guest spots at clubs including Crobar, Smart Bar, RedNo5, Big Wig and Vision. In the Spring of 2003, Nate took the helm as Music Director at an up-and-coming Wicker Park lounge called
Moonshine. His Thursday night event, Therapy, went on for over 3 years there and his Sunday Morning Funk and Soul Brunch was a hit. All at the same time Nate continued gigging, landing sets at events ranging from Summerfest to Milwaukee's Pridefest (3 years running) to Venues in Hawaii, London, Portland, New York and the infamous Burning Man festival in Black rock City NV, on bills with some pretty awesome A-List performers including John Digweed, Luke Solomon, DJ Krush, Ian Pooley, Kaskade, Juan Atkins, Nouvelle Vague, The Dandy Warhols and others. Currently Nate runs Bad Advice Records, a label dedicated to supplying the masses with, simply put, good, all original electronic music. In his first year of business he has worked with some of Chicago and Europe's finest producers, including Tommy Largo, Derrick Carter, HeavyFeet, Cheap as Chimps, Full Phat, Nick Maurer, James Curd, Genna Greene, Chad North and quite a few others. 2009 brings nothing but good things, with 10 more releases slated and a hectic DJ schedule in front of him.
